Services & Programs at NVNA and Hospice

Our team at NVNA and Hospice offers several services and programs to support our patients through their diagnoses. Whether you opt for in-home care or care at our Pat Roche Hospice Home, our team will provide you with the high-quality care you deserve.

Types of Care:

Home Care

Ordered by a physician, private home care services require skilled care by nurses or physical therapists. Our team offers several home care services, including palliative care, nutritionists, rehabilitation therapy, and home health aides.

For private pay services, please visit our Private Duty page.

Palliative Care

Palliative care is an extension of home care services, is available at any point during a serious illness, and does not depend on the patient’s prognosis. Support, comfort, and quality of life are the cornerstones of palliative care, which supports a holistic approach to relieve suffering and provide quality of life so patients can live as fully as possible.

Our hospice services are provided to patients during the last phases of a terminal illness in the comfort of their own home or in our hospice home in Hingham. For anyone needing hospice on the South Shore, our staff provides quality hospice services, emphasizing quality of life by focusing on what is important for each patient.

Bereavement Services

Our Bereavement program provides the psychological, emotional, and spiritual support needed during life’s difficult transition after a loved one’s passing. Families and caregivers are provided with a continuum of care through a supportive bereavement program that continues for thirteen months after the loss of a loved one.

Spiritual Care

Our spirituality is that which makes each of us unique. It relates to those things in which we find meaning, hope, love and purpose. As part of our hospice team, our Spiritual Care staff visits patients of all faiths and beliefs to offer comfort and explore their spiritual questions or concerns.

Support Groups

As part of our charitable mission,  NVNA and Hospice offers wellness and public health services to neighbors in our community. Our South Shore programs include support groups, disease-specific education, health screenings, and informational forums.
